I liked the main characters dialogue and Moira's challenges. She is one tough cookie! A survivor. I wish Mel, her husband, was in the ending to come full circle with their love. I know they make it as a couple. The bad guys get justice.
The plot is exciting and the characters believable. It's a great read!
If you like your thrillers violent and your heroes anguished, this book is for you. As other reviewers have noted, Kaynan’s books are like watching a movie. Quick scenes, lots of action, dark and gritty. A good, fast read that takes you to all corners of the world.
If you're the least bit offended by violence, this series isn't for you. However, if you enjoy a hardcore read that keeps you on the edge of your seat, you'll love this novel. Is it dark? Yes. Does it get your heart pumping? Heck, yeah. Get it. Read it. Love it.
Brilliant Read! Mr Kaynan has a superb talent for writing fiction and takes his reader on a fast and furious ride. He draws the reader into a gripping plot with colorful imagery and well developed characters. In HV, Kaynan expertly weaves their approach of understandable vengeance against dispicable sin and evil. Page after page, I could hear Mel Stone (Martin Kaynan's main character) repeatedly, "Vengeance is the only path to restore myself."
Step by step, the search to uncover the guilty led me, and will take you, to a masterful culmination. A very worthy trilogy. Very well done.
Caveat emptor. Buyer beware.This novel is not for the feint of heart. The book begins with the worst violent act that can be perpetrated on a woman ... a gang rape, which is followed by a near-fatal dose of drugs. Given this story-line I caution the feint of heart to beware. The author writes with the vengeance everyone should feel. There must be retribution -- legal or otherwise -- the rapists must pay. Mel [the protagonist] pursues the men across oceans and continents, with only one thing in mind "hell's vengeance." So as not to be a spoiler, let's just say he does more than find them. Meanwhile his wife struggles with the aftereffects of the rape and sudden drug addiction, resulting from the intended deadly drug dose -- a little added torment from the rapists, and a constant reminder of that awful night.
In comparison, there is an author by the name of Trevanian, who wrote twenty years ago, but suddenly stopped, and has only recently lifted his pen to write again. Why did he stop? He took his readers down a path of utter despair and the most horrid imaginable attacks that one human can inflict on another. I read Trevanian's books twenty years ago, but don't have the stomach for them now. He stopped writing because a certain subset of human beings began to use the tortured murders that he described, in real life. Life imitates art. Too bad.
So why do I rank this book with four stars? The author knows when to limit the inhumanity [which is to say he doesn't dwell on the rape scene] but instead focuses his story on suspense packed retribution -- leaving the reader with the inability to put the novel down before finishing the very last page. Congratulations to the author!
The hunt for the bad guys continues! Excitement rages as the story once more unfolds. Justice is finally done! It is a must read book if you have read the previous two books in the series.
Fast, furious, with planes interchanging like flashes on a screen, Hell's Vengeance is a book written in a very cinematographic way, approaching several subjects of interest to any type of reader. Kaynan reveals to us the darkest sides of the human psychology, the viciousness of drugs and the occasional injustice of justice, taking us on an alert chase. When I finished this book, I knew I shall read it again, caught in the circuit of vengeance.
