He accidentally discovers that by holding his nose tightly, screwing up his eyes into tiny slits, and blowing trapped air against his tightly closed nose, he can, if he gets it just right, merge and blur the universe around him, just enough to be able to slip from one plane of existence onto another. He then discovers the further he moves away from his start existence, the more time has split and different pathways have opened up within society. Little does he realize, he has discovered nothing. In truth, he is being sought and maneuvered by an alien 'She,' to another place, there to become the savior of a different world called Earth. This is the story of his adventures, and the enlightening road down which his life meanders. This is the story of a dedicated Trainspotter who battles a despicable malignant horror, which threatens all life, and how he becomes an unknown hero to millions, while learning a thing or two about himself along the way.

With the adventure of ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ still clearly in my mind, I dove into ‘A Trainspotter’s Guide to Other Earths.’ I was not disappointed. Mr. Stevens’ Guide is just as delightful and quirky as the previously mentioned volume.The story is of a dedicated Trainspotter, a bit of a geek who hangs out at train stations noting train’s makes, models and I.D. numbers. (I did some research and there actually are trainspotters in England much like we have airplane spotter’s state side.) Anyway, the spotter has no concept he is special until his is dragged through many alternate dimensions by an ‘Alien She’ in order to battle a world devouring evil.
Well, that is putting it in a nutshell, but it is far from being that simple. This is a delightfully humorous romp through imaginative settings with an engaging character at the helm. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys wit and sarcasm with a healthy dose of wisdom thrown in.

Found myself reading this very interesting book,full of humor,emotional moments and everything in between.
This naive loving geek finds himself caught up in this strange world,that no longer belongs to him.He is mocked and scorned at until the alien "She" comes to the rescue. Extremely enjoyable book you"d want to read over and over again.
